One of my babies, my Yamaha. The reason I love it might not be what you think (spoiler alert: its not because I’m excessively vain)…
It looks cool and feels great to ride (especially summer time), but that’s not the reason I love it. Its a more significant reason which I hope you can relate and apply in your own life. The reason is TIME. The further you go on your entrepreneurial journey, the more you realise and understand on a deeper level that time is your most valuable asset, its top of the list. Money comes and goes, you can make more of it, but time.. time is limited, once its gone, its gone. Sooner or later, it will all be gone, you will wake up one day to a wrinkly old face looking back in the mirror and realise what you did with your time will be your ultimate test of character.
I could go into this in great length but I just don’t have the remaining characters. Some points on TIME:
1) You have to sacrifice your time in order to get more of it. That might mean working really hard for 6 months or a year in order to live the rest of your life in freedom.
2) How you spend your time is important, so schedule the life you want, make time for work, planning, play, family, partners and business.
3) Be efficient. Relating it to my bike, a bus/taxi/car journey to work which lasts 30 mins, takes 15 mins on the bike. This saves 2.5 hours a week (based on 5 day working week). Apply this type of efficiency to all areas and you will create more time asset.
